Flowering size orchid

The Cattleya araguaiensis is an impressive orchid from the Cattleya family. This plant originally comes from Brazil, where it grows in the regions of Goias and Tocantins, on the banks of the Araguaia River at altitudes of 300 to 600 meters. The plant grows epiphytically, meaning it hangs from trees without causing damage. It has parchment-like, lanceolate leaves and forms pseudobulbs. The flowers of the Cattleya araguaiensis are a real eye-catcher. They reach a size of up to 10 cm in diameter and impress with their sepia color combination with dark veins. The lip of the flower is yellowish and covered with purple dots. The Cattleya araguaiensis is a heat-tolerant plant that requires high humidity and plenty of light. It blooms mainly in the summer months and is an asset to any orchid collection.
