Flowering size orchid
Dendrobium delacourii is a compact, epiphytic species native to the mountain forests of Indochina (including Vietnam and Laos). This upright, stocky plant produces short, leafy stems and is well-suited for smaller pots or mounting on cork or bark. Short inflorescences with several delicate flowers, approximately 2 cm in diameter, emerge from the upper nodes. The flowers are usually white to cream-colored with a yellowish lip and may have subtle markings depending on the clone; a pleasant fragrance is frequently reported. Flowering occurs primarily during the cooler months, from autumn to spring. Cultivation: very bright, filtered light, good air circulation, and consistently moist conditions during the growing season; allow the soil to dry slightly between waterings. Cool to intermediate/warm temperatures are suitable, provided excessive heat is avoided and humidity (50–70%) is maintained. Substrate: coarse bark with some sphagnum moss or mounted, with more frequent watering. Moderate fertilization during the growing season is sufficient.
