The pictures show the two parent plants; the plants will be ready to flower in one year. Rlc. Dresden 'Simone' x Rlc. Toshi Aoki 'Pizzaz' is an attractive Rhyncholaeliocattleya hybrid. This sympodial plant forms robust, sheath-bearing pseudobulbs with 1–2 leathery leaves. The parent plants, including the well-known Rlc. Toshi Aoki, produce large, waxy, often pleasantly fragrant flowers in warm yellow tones; the lip usually displays a contrasting red to mahogany and may be accompanied by red flames or markings on the petals. Flowering occurs preferably from late summer into autumn. In cultivation, this hybrid prefers bright, filtered light with good air circulation, intermediate temperatures, and a well-draining substrate (coarse bark). During the active growth phase, water thoroughly, allowing the soil to dry out well between waterings; in winter, water sparingly and with slightly less moisture. Light, regular fertilization during the growing season promotes compact, floriferous plants. Suitable for pots; can also be tied up in high humidity.
