The plants will bloom from September to December of the following year. Cattleya eldorado 'Mount Ito' is a selected clone. In its native habitat in the Brazilian state of Amazonas (including the Manaus area, Rio Negro), it grows epiphytically in a warm, humid climate under diffuse sunlight. The plants remain compact (approx. 25–30 cm) with club-shaped, single-leaved pseudobulbs. The large, fragrant flowers reach about 17 cm in diameter and, depending on the clone, display delicate lavender to almost white tones; the lip is usually more intensely colored, with a yellowish throat and fine veining. Flowering time is from September to December. Cultivation: very bright to slightly indirect light, temperate to warm temperatures year-round, water evenly with good drying time between waterings. No pronounced dormancy period, but water more sparingly after bud break and flowering. Humidity of 60–80% and good air circulation are beneficial. Coarse bark in pots or baskets makes a suitable substrate; repot regularly when new roots begin to grow. Fertilize moderately during the main growing season, about 2–3 times per month with a weak solution.
