Flowering size orchid

Beautifully cultivated, floriferous plants; it is a rare, very beautiful natural form. Vanda insignis is a warm-temperate, monopodial epiphyte species from Indonesia (including Java), where it grows in the light, airy canopies of trees at lower to mid-elevations. It forms upright shoots with strap-shaped leaves and bears several long-lasting, waxy, pleasantly fragrant flowers on lateral, upright to slightly arching inflorescences. The flowers are usually chocolate brown to olive brown, with a contrasting, light-colored column and often a pink-tinged lip; they are about 6–7 cm in diameter. Cultivation: very bright location with some direct sunlight and good air circulation, warm year-round. Maintain typical Vanda conditions with very good air circulation (wooden baskets or rough bark); water generously during the warmer months, allowing the soil to dry out well between waterings. There is no pronounced dormancy period; in winter, the soil should be only slightly drier and somewhat cooler. Fertilize with liquid fertilizer 2–3 times a month during the growing season. Flowering usually occurs from summer to autumn; with optimal cultivation, several flowerings per year are possible.
